Diabetic Eye Screening

If you have diabetes, regular eye screening is essential. Diabetes can affect the blood vessels in your retina, and early detection through screening is key to preventing vision loss. We offer both NHS and private diabetic eye screening with advanced retinal imaging.

Why It Matters

Why Diabetic Screening is Essential

Diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes of preventable sight loss in the UK. The condition develops when high blood sugar levels damage the small blood vessels in the retina. In its early stages, there are usually no symptoms, which is why regular screening is so important.

With early detection, treatment can prevent or significantly reduce the risk of vision loss. Our advanced imaging equipment allows us to detect changes at the earliest possible stage.

Important: All people with diabetes should have their eyes screened at least once a year, even if their vision seems fine. Don't wait for symptoms to appear.

Advanced Retinal Imaging

We use OCT scanning and high-resolution retinal photography to examine the layers of your retina in detail, detecting changes that may not be visible with standard examination.

NHS & Private Options

Diabetic eye screening is available through the NHS. We also offer private screening with enhanced imaging for those who want the most comprehensive assessment.

Regular Monitoring

We keep detailed records of your retinal images, allowing us to track any changes over time and act quickly if treatment is needed.
